Welcome
to Karrimah Kennels! We know you have done your research in your
pursuit of a happy, healthy companion to join your family and we are
honored that you should be considering our kennels. Whether it be
a beagle puppy, a cavalier king charles spaniel puppy, or an older dog,
we strive to match the right dog to the right family. I
have been showing and breeding dogs for 17 years, and when I moved to
Virginia, my husband joined me in my endeavor. We have been
showing in the USA for four years now and plan to continue for many
years to come. Karrimah is
an Australian Aborginal word meaning "place of trees". It was an
old prefix that was used for my Grandfather's merino sheep that he
showed in Australia and it only seemed natural to me that I should
continue with this name in his memory. The original Karrimah Farm
still exists in Kulin, Western Australia and is also being used by my
mother for her chili sauce business. We are now located in
Stafford, Virginia, enjoying our life with our merry little beagles and
our darling, royal spaniels.
Our
dogs are first and foremost our pets, sharing our house with our
toddler, cats and various other animals.
Although every litter we breed is with the purpose of finding our next
show star in the whelping box, we understand that most puppies end up
going to new homes as beloved pets. We do extensive medical testing to
ensure
the healthiest possible pets and breed to meet the breed standards, as
set forth by the American Kennel Club (AKC). We also put our puppies
through the superdog program, early housebreaking and early
socialization to ensure a well rounded, happy puppy that will have a
very smooth transition into his or her new home. Though not all the
dogs we breed are destined to be champions like their parents, our pet
quality puppies are by no means inferior to the puppies we choose to
keep in either health or temperament. These puppies do often
posses a minor cosmetic flaw that would not be visible to the untrained
eye. As a small hobby kennel, we only have a few litters of
beagles and cavaliers for sale every year. The demand for these
puppies is very high and there is often a waiting list for these dogs.
We do occasionally have older puppies and adults available for
adoption.
We travel to dog shows in Virginia, Maryland,
Pennslyvania and New Jersey most weekends and love to catch up with and
compete against our fellow breeders. Our kennel is always open
for visitors, so should you wish to come by and meet the beagles, the
cavalier king charles spaniels or myself, just let me know and I'd be
more than happy to accomodate. Take the time to browse our
website and feel free to email me with any questions you may have. | We are proud members of the National Beagle Club of America | |
